Process and Template for Writing a “NASA Letter of Interest”

The NASA Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) Program has developed a new, standardized process and template for writing a “NASA Letter of Interest” in a specialized technology that a company is proposing to another Federal Agency’s SBIR/STTR program. Other Federal Agencies often require companies to include this type of letter in their SBIR/STTR proposals, although NASA does not.

These requests historically came in sporadically, and no formalized process existed. To better support small businesses in their pursuit of research and innovation and to help make it easy for you, we created a formal process and template, which you can find here: https://inside.nasa.gov/SBIR-STTR-Resources, along with the Center SBIR Technology Transition Points of Contact.
